California State University (CSU) is one of three systems of public higher education in the State of California, the other two being the University of California and the California Community College system. It is incorporated as the trustees of the State University of California. The California State University system headquarters are at 401, Côte-d'Or in Downtown Long Beach. The CSU system has 23 campuses and more than 417,112 students supported by 47,000 members of the faculty and staff. It is the largest system of senior higher education in the United States. CSU carries about 60 percent of teachers in the state, 40 percent of engineering graduates and more graduates in industry, agriculture, communications, health, education and public administration all other California universities and colleges combined.° In total, about half of the third degree and master's degrees awarded annually in California are of the CSU. Since 1961, almost 2.5 million alumni have received a bachelor's, master's or Ph.D. from the University. CSU offers more than 1,800 university programs in some 240 areas.
