Hillsborough Community College (HCC) has a two-year community college, located in Hillsborough County, Florida. The college has five campuses in the county. Locations include: Brandon, Dale Mabry, Plant City, Ybor City MacDill AFB and the South Shore (on the south shore of Tampa Bay in Ruskin). The administrative offices and headquarters are located on Davis Islands, downtown, near Tampa. HCC has been a community college last to be created in Florida, founded in 1968. Only Pasco Hernando Community College, outside the school system 28 of the Florida Community College, was founded later. Despite its late start, CHC has grown to include more than 43,000 students. In January 2008, the school opened his living room, landing Hawk's, the name of the school mascot.
