As a faith-based university, the nursing education you will receive at Baylor University is based upon the philosophy that nursing is a profession and a ministry. Baylor University School of Nursing students study with faculty who all are Registered Nurses and hold graduate degrees. Instructor-supervised clinical experiences are at the world-renowned Baylor University Medical Center and at other outstanding health care facilities throughout the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex. The undergraduate program of the Louise Herrington School of Nursing awards the Bachelor Science in Nursing (BSN). Approximately 275 students are enrolled in the BSN program.

About Baylor University

Baylor University is a private Christian university affiliated research located in Waco, Texas, USA. Founded in 1845, Baylor is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools and is a member of the Big 12 Conference. The university campus is located just south of Downtown Waco, roughly bounded by Interstate 35, La Salle Avenue, Eighth Street and the Brazos River. Baylor is known for its programs in business, law, music, philosophy, theology and science (see research below). In 1841, 35 delegates to the meeting of the Union Baptist Association accepted the suggestion of Reverend William Milton Tryon and ERC Baylor to establish a Baptist University in Texas. Baylor, a district judge in Texas and onetime Congress from Alabama, became the eponymous school. Texas Baptist Education Society then petitioned Congress of the Republic of Texas to charter a Baptist university in the fall of 1844.President Anson Jones signed the Act of Congress on February 1, 1845, officially establishing Baylor University.
